Barbarossa Fishing is a Bay Area fishing charter based out of Santa Cruz, California. Come and enjoy a day in nature as you explore the area’s beautiful and fish-rich nearshore and offshore waters. Barbarossa Fishing specializes in private 6-Pack fishing charters to catch Salmon, Tuna, Halibut, Rockfish, and Lingcod, from Big Sur to San Francisco. We will provide you with all the rods, reels, tackle, bait, and lures. You only need to bring fishing licenses, sturgeon/crab tags when applicable, and the food and drinks of your choice.
Santa Cruz, Private Fishing Charter $800 – $1,300
Pick a date for a private charter. Your captain, or by popular vote, will determine which species to target. Trips will depart out of the Santa Cruz Harbor and will last approximately 3 or 7 hours. Private charters are $800 for 3 hours or $1,300 for 7 hours, bring up to 6 people. 3 hour trips depart at 6am, 10am and 4pm. 7 hour trip leaves at 6:30am. 3 hour trips are for perfect for beginners and families with children. 50% of trip cost is due at time of booking.
Seasons are typically:
Rockfish/Lingcod: April 1st – Dec. 31st
Halibut: Open year round but best from May – October
Sand dabs/Sole: Open year round
Crab: Opens First Saturday in November – March
Salmon: Closed for 2024.

Bluefin tuna and possibly albacore: Season can be March – December, but is usually the best from July-November. Depends on weather forecast since we will be fishing between 20-80 miles offshore. Once trip is confirmed, full trip cost will be invoiced. Max 5 guests. Open party $500, max of 5 guests. Call to get on the call list for when the tuna are here.
