What is included?

Fishing rod and reel setups, ice, bait, tackle and large coolers for your catch on the boat.

What is not included?

A fishing license must be purchased beforehand and be with you at all times while on the boat. You can buy them at any Walmart, Big 5, West Marine, or on the CA Department of Fish and Wildlife’s website. You must download and print the fishing license if purchased online, you will not be able to access it after you purchased it. There is also an app on called “CDFW License”, where you can purchase and show your license. If we are fishing for sturgeon or crab, you will need a sturgeon tag or crab trap validation tag. Please bring a cash tip for your captain and deckhand! 20-30% of trip cost is customary and greatly appreciated, they work long and hard hours to make sure gear is rigged and ready to go. Fish cleaning is complementary for most trips.

What should I bring?

You can bring a small soft-sided cooler for food and drinks (leave any large coolers in your car), sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, warm jacket with layers, rain boots, and fishing license! If we are fishing for sturgeon or crab, you will need a sturgeon tag or crab trap validation tag. Feel free to bring your own gear and/or favorite lures.

Will I get seasick?

Only you will know how your body reacts to the sea. If you are unsure, please take dramamine original formula according to the labels recommendation. The non-drowsy formula doesn’t work for most people so please don’t risk it.

What gear will we be using?

For rockfish and halibut we will be using Penn rod and Avet reel combos of 6’6″ – 7′ length spooled with 50lb braid. For tuna, we are using XXXH Phenix Rods with Penn 50VISX reels spooled with 130lb braid. For salmon we will be using scotty electric downriggers, with Lamiglas, Okuma, and Penn 8’6″ rods, and Penn Fathom reels, spooled with 50lb braid and 40lb monofilament leaders.
